SUMMARY:Byfield: SANDYFEST 2019
DESCRIPTION:We’re doing SandyFest again! It was sold out last year and was a great event.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nLISTEN-LISTEN: The Songs of Sandy Denny… \nSally says: I am delighted to report that some of the members of the reformed Fotheringay (Sally Barker\, PJ Wright) with annA rydeR\, who played piano at JerryAid\, fiddler Marion Fleetwood\, bass player Mat Davies and drummer Mark Stevens are now performing as the band ‘LISTEN\, LISTEN – The Songs of Sandy Denny’ They will be appearing at various venues through the year. \nThis collection of musicians first appeared at Byfield Village Hall to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Sandy Denny’s death. It seemed a fitting place to celebrate Sandy as not only did Sandy and Trevor live in the village but Byfield Village Hall was the venue for Sandy’s last public performance. To our delight the concert was sold out within weeks of its announcement so the first concert of 2019 for LISTEN LISTEN will be a return to Byfield Village Hall for SandyFest 2019 on Saturday 13th April 2019. Tickets are available here: https://www.wegottickets.com/event/461927\ndoors 7.30 music starts 8.15pm.\ntickets will be the same price as last year. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nByfield is off the A361 between Chipping Warden and Daventry.\n\n\n\nSandyFest 2019 will be held at Byfield Village Hall near Daventry in Oxfordshire on Saturday 13th April. On 21st April last year we held the first Sandyfest to commemorate 40 years since the passing of Sandy Denny\, solo singer/songwriter\, bon viveur and integral member of the groundbreaking English folk rock bands Fotheringay and Fairport Convention. Sandy lived in Byfield and the Village Hall is the venue that hosted her last public performance before her untimely death. The band for SandyFest is formed around the remnants of the reformed Fotheringay\, which\, sadly could not continue touring after Jerry Donahue suffered a severe stroke. \n  \n
