DESCRIPTION:Tiddy Hall\nShipton Road\, Ascott -u- Wychwood\, Oxfordshire\,\nOX7 6AG \nannA (vocals\, piano\, banjo and possibly other instruments) performs as part of The Sandy Denny Project. \nannA rydeR\, Sally Barker and Marion Fleetwood (IOTA) play with PJ Wright\, Mark Stevens and Mat Davies as The Sandy Denny Project performing the Songs of Sandy Denny. \nannA started her involvement with this band having performed with original band members Pat Donaldson and Gerry Conway together with Sally and PJ. After that\, this current line-up formed. \nThe Sandy Denny Project formed in 2017 to recognise and to celebrate the music of the late Sandy Denny\, who is considered a founder of the British folk-rock movement\, and perhaps its most important female singer. Sandy died in 1978\, however her songs remain as fresh\, poignant and as beautiful today as the time that they were penned. The repertoire of ‘Listen Listen’ reflects the amazing legacy of work left behind by Sandy\, through her work with the early incarnations of Fairport Convention\, the sublime Fotheringay\, and also her incredible repertoire of songs. \n“These pioneers of folk bring a whole lot of professional awesomeness to the table with The Sandy Denny Project – covering some of my mum’s best work and doing an outstanding job of keeping her flame alive\, these six highly talented musicians bring their creative musical powers together to celebrate Sandy’s genius with new shine and brilliance!”\n(Georgia Rose Lucas – Sandy Denny’s Daughter) \nFotheringay MkII members Sally Barker (The Poozies\, BBCTV?s The Voice) and guitarist PJ Wright (TradArrr\, The Dylan Project) are joined by frequent Fairport Convention guest Anna Ryder\, multi-instrumentalist Marion Fleetwood (voice\, fiddles guitars) and the rhythm section of Mat Davies and drummer Mark Stevens from folk-rock legends Little Johnny England to form The Sandy Denny Project. \nSandy Denny’s remarkable writing is approached not as a tribute band\, slavishly copying the records\, but as a tribute in its best sense – an interpretation of Sandy’s wonderful work. \nWith every year\, Sandy’s reputation continues to grow in stature as a songwriter and interpreter of traditional material\, and the six musicians in the band who share an impressive folk rock pedigree are each at the very top of their musical \n
