SUMMARY:New Forest Folk Festival IOTA and LISTEN-LISTEN
DESCRIPTION:IOTA are playing this wonderful festival! And the added bonus is we’re also playing as Listen-Listen – The songs of Sandy Denny. (Now called The Sandy Denny Project). \nwww.iotaband.co.uk \nWe are on the Sunday afternoon and evening. Also there might be some workshop type things going on… \nThe vibrant IOTA merge the solo talents of Tom Jones-mentored Voice 2014 finalist Sally Barker with multi-instrumentalists Anna Ryder and Marion Fleetwood. \nAll three play guitars\, sing and write the songs as well as performing a smattering of well chosen cover tunes. \nMidlands musicians Anna and Marion also play cello\, French horn\, keyboards\, fiddle\, accordion and banjo. \nOn their debut album ‘O YEH YEH !’ IOTA show off their excellent writing and performing skills.\nA video of song ‘Downfall’ can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rf_3n0uFxF0 \nIndividually they are highly skilled performers\, admired by many fellow musicians\, together their mix of sublime harmonies\, humour\, poignant songs and whacky sense humour bring us a fabulous new band !! \nListen-Listen is IOTA with PJ Wright\, Mark Stevens and Mat Davies performing the songs of Sandy Denny.  \n‘Listen Listen’ formed in 2017 to recognize and to celebrate the music of the late Sandy Denny\, who is considered a founder of the British folk-rock movement\, and perhaps its most important female singer. Sandy died in 1978\, however her songs remain as fresh\, poignant and as beautiful today as the time that they were penned. The repertoire of ‘Listen Listen’ reflects the amazing legacy of work left behind by Sandy\, through her work with the early incarnations of Fairport Convention\, the sublime Fotheringay\, and also her incredible repertoire of solo work.  \n‘Listen Listen’ are: \nSally Barker (vocals and guitar) \nPJ Wright (vocals and guitar) \nAnna Ryder (piano\, vocals\, brass and banjo) \nMarion Fleetwood (guitar\, vocals and fiddle) \nMat Davies (bass)\nMark Stevens (percussion) \n
