Boil-in-the-bag Scales

This is Chris Knibbs method of practice. It is quite clever and was first devised in 2000 by Chris himself. It is an ingenious way of practicing those annoying scales without you having to practice them. With this method they are inserted directly into the instrument ready-practiced. (This is Chris demonstrating how this works)…

1. Buy some Boil-in-the-bag Scales for your relevant instrument. In this case Chris plays the trombone.

5. Shake your trombone vigorously until you can hear that all the contents of the bag have dispersed

6. Your trombone will now be equipped with all relevant scales including melodic and harmonic minors
