Alstonefield: Hopedale Farm Concert
August 3 @ 12:00 pm - 10:00 pm£22
Yayyyy! I’m doing this lovely small concerty concert at Alstonefield. It is an absolutely gorgeous place with amazing hills. And good moths.
A small and select acoustic day with annA rydeR, Martyn Wyndham-Read, Tom McConville and Dan Walsh.
A day of music merriment and Val’s cheeseboard! Pub (next door!) opens @ noon, music starts @ 11.30 am. Based at Hopedale Farm during the day, with food included in the price of the ticket. Followed by an evening session in The Watts Russell Arms (bring instruments!) where food will be on sale.
NB this is a small concert so get your ticket soon as they go quick!!
I have done at least 6 gigs at this place since Dec 16th when I first played the Village Hall with Keith Donnelly. I seem to end up here every few months! The last time was to come and see my friend Gordon Giltrap who I met way back in the 80s at Warwick Folk Club (the original one at The Globe) when he lived near me. If you get a chance to see Gordon solo – he is brilliant and very entertaining! Anyway – I shall be everso pleased to go back to Alstonefield AGAIN. (I am/was also there March 23rd to do a little support slot for Pete Atkin). Can’t keep away!
This time though, these marvellous people are playing as well: Tom , Martyn and Dan. And I am hoping there will be cheese. There is always cheese. And nice people. With cheese.
In the meantime – here is my picture of a fly going out for the evening…
